Linda was born into trauma, experienced it at a very young age, and struggled with many of the unhealthy coping mechanisms trauma victims do. She got into counseling like many, to understand herself and her family. In doing that, she started to understand intergenerational trauma.
In graduate school her repressed memories came to light and since then she has been on a mission to help others with trauma. She graduated from Cairne University with an MS in Counseling in 2003, as well as attending the College of NJ's graduate school in Counseling. She worked as a therapist for Randall B. Hicks and Associates, and in 2005 while there, she launched Complete Life Coaching (now Linda Vidi's Life Coaching & Counseling).
Linda had a deep desire to turn her own pain into purpose. She recognized the importance of studying intergenerational trauma, and hoped to teach others how to break this destructive cycle, in order to find recovery. There is hope for healing, for each survivor, as well as protection for the next generation. This hope is what steered Linda towards trauma-informed therapy and support. She has been there herself. She can relate effectively to those who are struggling with all forms of trauma injuries and coping mechanisms.
Linda did a year of post graduate internship with group counseling. She saw how effective it was and what the extra dynamic of group work can do for those struggling with these issues. She started a group therapy for trauma recovery that is available and free to all of her clients. Look for the Triumphant Trauma Tribe on Facebook. For more information, contact Linda.
